Conceived by artist, curator and gallerist Tony Khawam, Crossing Borders is an ongoing exhibition featuring the work of immigrant artists from Turkey, Israel, Syria, the UK, Cuba, Haiti, Columbia, and Venezuela. This third installment features the collaboration between Khawam Galleries, the Kendall Art Center and NSU, with the KACC loaning the work of artists Ivonne Ferrer and Jose Bedia. This exhibition focuses on the artists' cultural heritage intertwined with their American experience, and the impact of immigration and the new American culture on their lives and art making. The project entitled “Crossing Borders: Artists from the Middle East & the Americas” an art exhibition with cultural events from South Florida’s rich multicultural community.
